Ormiston State School was evacuated on Tuesday morning after the school received a hoax bomb threat.
Acting Senior Sergeant Bernie Quinlan said the school received the threat via a recorded message about 9.30am.
Students and teachers were evacuated to the oval.
Senior Sergeant Quinlan said police checked the school to ensure it was safe for students to return.
He said the threat was similar to the majority of other threats that had been received by schools this month.
A similar threat was received by Centenary State High School in Jindalee at the same time.
“Investigations to identify the persons making the threats are continuing,” Senior Sergeant Quinlan said.
Students and teachers were able to return to class about 10.30am.
