The Redland Bay branch of the ANZ bank will close on April 27.
ANZ Media Relations Advisor, Phoebe O’Sullivan said the Broadwater Terrace location had experienced a significant drop in foot traffic.
“At the same time we have seen an increase in customers using digital channels such as internet banking, ATM’s and our mobile banking app, goMoney to do their banking,” she said.
Ms O’Sullivan said it had been difficult decision to close Redland Bay.
“We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience it may cause,” she said.
Customers have been contacted about the closure and advised that their nearest branch was located 4km away, at 2-34 Bunker Road, Victoria Point.
Phone and online banking services are also available to customers 24/7 on 13 13 14 or by visiting anz.com.
Ms O’Sullivan said the bank was working hard to find positions for the six staff involved, with one staff member already secured in a position at a nearby branch.
