POLICE are providing a more visible presence in Victoria Point by basing a mobile police community office in the suburb.
The office, which consists of a large, custom-designed van, will be stationed at Victoria Point on Thursday evenings and on Fridays during the day.
Senior Constable Luke Taylor from Cleveland police station said the mobile office enabled Victoria Point residents to engage with police in their community.
“Our police officers will be available to take reports about crimes, provide domestic violence advice and give information about police recruitment,” he said.
“It reinforces our presence in the Victoria Point area and gives people the opportunity to see the mobile police community office,” he said.
Senior Constable Taylor said the trial started on Thursday, June 16 and was for an unspecified time, depending on its success.
The office is located at Victoria Point Shopping Centre on Thursdays from 4pm to 9pm and at Town Centre Victoria Point on Fridays from 9am to 2pm.
Residents are reminded to call 000 in an emergency, or contact PoliceLink on 131 444 for non-urgent police assistance or to report a crime.
