QUEENSLAND saxophonist Neil Wickham will perform at the Swing Time Binary Music Club’s monthly event on Sunday, August 21.
As a professional musician Mr Wickham has performed with diverse groups and musicians including the Queensland Symphony and Philharmonic orchestras, the Brisbane Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, Big Kitty and Grammy Award winner Keith Urban.
He is currently woodwind tutor for the Queensland Youth Orchestra Council and a registered teach at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University’s jazz studies program.
Student ensembles under Mr Wickham’s guidance have won awards at major events including the Australian National Band Championships, the National Stage Band Awards, Queensland Youth Music Awards and the Queensland Festival of Music.
Mr Wickham has led student performances in recent tours to the United States and Europe.
He is a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
The Swing Time Binary Music Club meets every third Sunday of the month at 1.45pm at Binary Music Studio, 48 Bloomfield Street in Cleveland.
