A spokesperson for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said smoke spread into the building after an electrical fault in an air conditioning unit on the roof.
The store was evacuated for about 30 minutes and then re-opened.
Four fire trucks and an ambulance attended the store in response to the reports.
