The 21st century teachers must balance the use of educational technology in their classroom with real life experiences, as well as consider childhood brain development.
Students must be given plenty of opportunities to run and play, touch things and experience real life and communicating face to face with other humans.
Technology has its place in the classroom, but children must be provided the opportunity each day to interact with others, move around freely and touch real things, rather than spending their school days solely in a virtual environment.
As Bill Gates said: “Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids to work together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important.”
Not only will students need technology skills, but they will need skills in collaboration, creative thinking, critical thinking and communication.
In Vienna Woods spacious natural environment, there is room for students and staff to develop these skills.
All classrooms are double-sized allowing plenty of space for collaborating and explicit teaching and independent learning.
Staff are passionate, skilled and committed to working with your children to meet their individual learning needs.
Through ‘Positive Behaviour for Learning’ Vienna Woods strive for a calm, supportive learning focused environment.
Students are developing a deep understanding of, not only how to use technology, but how it works too.
They are critically thinking of how to use, adapt and apply the technology in their everyday life.
Vienna Woods are currently planning classes and programs for all year levels and taking enrolments for all year levels.
In our Buzz into Prep transition program, Vienna Woods are introducing its 2017 Prep students to the wonderful world of robotics.
