Dashcam footage has captured the moment a police car was involved in a collision in Brisbane's north while responding to a nearby robbery on Friday.
The crash happened just before 7am at the intersection of Stafford and Webster Road in Stafford as the police responded to an armed robbery at a Rode Road newsagency with lights and sirens on.
The white four-wheel-drive continued through the intersection while traffic around it stopped and collided with the police car, sending wreckage flying across the road.
It is believed a truck on the car's inside may have been obstructing the driver's view and caused the crash.
Both cars were extensively damaged but no one was injured. Two other vehicles waiting at the intersection were also damaged when the four-wheel-drive collided with them after the initial collision.
The newsagency robber, armed with a firearm, fled the scene empty-handed and remains on-the-run. No one was injured during the incident.
Police believe the same offender could be responsible for a number of other recent robberies.
