After a successful season in 2016, in which both of the men’s senior teams and the senior ladies’ team reached the semi-finals of their respective competitions, the Muddies pre-season training kicked off for both the men and ladies on January 14.
It was pleasing to see a number of returning players as well as new players, which will bolster both the mens and ladies teams
In the heat of the morning the players were put through an hour of fitness.
It was apparent that some of the players were out of shape but fitness levels should improve significantly before the first trial game.
This will be the first hit out for the ladies’ team against Wests this Saturday, February 4, which will coincide with the club’s Waitangi Day celebrations.
All new and returning players, both men and women, are encouraged to attend pre-season training on Wednesdays at 7pm and Saturdays at 6.30am at the Judy Holt Fields.
