THE Redland City Choir has raised $5000 for victims of domestic violence through its Redlands White Christmas Around the World Charity Concert.
The donation to be given to Redland Foundation following the concert at Redland Performing Arts Centre brings to $20,000 the total raised by the choir for this cause.
Choir director Anita Taylor and the choir members thanked the sponsors for their support.
“This fundraising concert is only made possible through the generosity of our local business folk who have supported the choir and sponsored the production to help create a beautiful Christmas show,” she said.
Among the sponsors is Alan Lucas from Remax, who was the original founder of the choir in 2013.
Initially formed to undertake a one-off performance, the Redland City Choir was met with interest and enthusiasm.
It has performed three sell-out Christmas charity concerts and recorded two albums Christmas is Here and Mercy Tree.
Rehearsals will recommence on February 7 at RPAC in Cleveland.
