You won’t find a game more family friendly than hockey.
In fact, Redland Hockey Association has a family of seven signed up to play for the 2017 competition, association administrator Alice Meadow said.
“We are one of the only sporting clubs I know of where you can start playing as a junior, and growing up you have the opportunity to play alongside your parents.
“It always amazes me how many different generations we have playing.”

2017 spells great things for Redland’s hockey with the employment of a development co-ordinator, Taylah Freeman.
Originally a junior player and inaugural member of the club, she went on to play in state championships and has coached the Hockey Qld Under 17s development squads.
She will work with the club to help drive its future success and develop its players.
The hockey season starts April 22.
Pre-season games, training and development days will take place in the weeks leading up.
Sign up is available across the seven age divisions – Under 7s, Under 9s, Under 12s, Under 16s (mixed teams), senior men and senior women.
Registrations are being taken online at www.hockeyqld.com.au, with Redlands association representatives able to assist with any questions on the day.
- Come and try will be held at Henry Ziegenfusz Park, Cleveland Saturday, February 11 at 2pm to 5pm, and on Sunday, February 12 at 10am to noon.
