A total of 230 athletes competed in events, including 70 metre and 100 metre sprints, 200 metre and 800 metre events, race walks, long jump and high jump, hurdles, discus, shot put and javelin.
Despite the heat many participants at the Redlands Little Athletics Carnival walked away with personal best times.
Held on the Cleveland State High School ovals, the event attracted athletes from clubs around Brisbane and as far away as Toowoomba.
The carnival was held in the lead up to the Little Athletics South East Regional Championships to be held at Queensland State Athletics Centre on February 11 and 12.
Athletes who place at the regional championships will go on to compete in the state competition next month.
