A QUICK-THINKING Sheldon resident reporting suspicious behaviour to police led to the recovery of a stolen utility.
Two children playing in the yard about 8.30am on Wednesday alerted their father when they saw a vehicle that appeared to have broken down on the road.
The father contacted police when a man tried to load the utility onto a tip truck.
When police arrived, the truck had left, but a tow truck had been called to remove the utility.
The white Hilux belonged to a Jimboomba man and had been stolen from Coopers Plains on September 20.
The vehicle has been recovered for forensic examination and police investigations are continuing.
Police appealed for any suspicious behaviour to be reported to Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
