YOUTH aged between 15 and 19 can learn hospitality or construction skills at work readiness programs being run by the Cage Youth Foundation at Redland Bay.

Through Get Set to Serve teenagers can obtain a Certificate 2 in Hospitality, together with first aid and CPR certification.
Foundation founder Linda Grieve said participants would do hands-on barista training and learn about writing a resume, job interviews, personal development and searching for employment.
The Get Set to Build program will see participants receive a nationally accredited Certificate 1 in Construction, as well as first aid and CPR certification and a White Card.
They will also be involved in construction project.
The courses run four days a week and include a week of work experience.
The hospitality course is nine weeks and the construction course lasts for 16 weeks.
Ten people will be accommodated in each of the courses, which are offered for free as a result of state government funding.
