WELLINGTON Point photographer Andrea Thompson has pocketed the title of Queensland’s top family photographer for 2017.
More than 90 of Queensland’s best professional photographers gathered in Brisbane for the AIPP Queensland Epson Professional Photography Awards presented at the Brisbane Racing Club.
The awards are run annually in every state by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, the country’s largest photographic membership body.
National president Vittorio Natoli said the awards represented the best of the best of Australia’s professional photography.
More than 140 entrants submitted 701 images to be judged.
This year, the awards were peer-judged anonymously over two days by photographers including Melissa Neumann from SA, Rob Burnett from Tasmania and Kaye Davis from NZ.
The state awards are a stepping stone to the country’s largest national awards for professional print photography.
Professional Photographer of the Year was Ken Drake of Zoo Studio
The awards are open to all professional photographers.
