In celebration of World Environment Day, Folk Redlands will be partnering with Indigiscapes and Redland City Council to host the annual IndigiDayOut Festival from 10 to 4.15pm on June 3.
The day promises to be a great day out for all the family with market stalls, native plant displays, trackless train rides, kid’s activities, animal displays, barbecue, and a music festival across two stages hosted by Folk Redlands.
Mayor Karen Williams said the event was not only a celebration of the Redlands' environmental character but equally its cultural heritage.
“Now in its 16th year, Indigi Day Out is the annual signature event of Redlands IndigiScapes Centre and timed to celebrate World Environment Day, This year’s World Environment Day theme, Connecting People to Nature, is very fitting given all of Council’s environmental programs are managed by IndigiScapes,” she said.
“The Redlands has a proud aboriginal community and we’re privileged to have roots, folk and Indigenous performer Troy Brady headlining this year, as Indigi Day Out also marks the end of National Reconciliation Week," she said.
She said the event was also a great opportunity for locals to visit IndigiScapes and speak directly with officers about bushcare, environmental partnerships, wildlife, waste reduction, waterways, and schools education.
Indigi Day Out offers a host of exhibits, displays and talks, as well as native plant sales, circus skills, face painting, nature play and wildlife displays for the kids.
