WILDLIFE officers at Daisy Hill Koala Centre are celebrating the return of their 152 centimetre tall mascot, Daisy, after she was allegedly stolen from the establishment on June 7.

Daisy was brought home by officers from the Springwood Police Station to the koala centre on Thursday morning.
Environment Minister Steven Miles said he was thankful for the work of the Springwood police officers who returned the much-loved mascot.
“In just a short period of time, Daisy was returned to her home at the centre, thanks to these hard-working officers,” Mr Miles said.
“Although it is disappointing to think someone could reportedly steal such an important mascot, it is encouraging to know the community has officers like these, who have clearly done their best to return the precious Daisy.”
Ranger Sophie Pimblett said it was great to have Daisy back.
“The staff have grown to love her since she was bought after the centre’s refurbishment in about 2009,” Ms Pimblett said.
“She is also a big hit with the children and parents who visit the centre – everyone here wants a photo with Daisy.”
