The Capalaba State School has a new television for its library and open plan learning area thanks to the Good Guys Doing Good program.
Doing Good Day is an annual event held on the first Saturday in July where The Good Guys Capalaba and the community come together to Do Good.
“We are passionate about making a difference in our local community and having a positive impact on important social challenges through grass-roots programs and projects,” The Good Guys Capalaba Store Executive Manager, Paul Zollo said.
The school was nominated by a parent who described its junior principal Lachlan Thatcher as “enthusiastic and dynamic”.
“It takes a village to raise a child is a mantra that comes to mind when I think of this school and this initiative from The Good Guys is a great example of how large organisations can practically assist in the education and development of children locally,” he said.
“It’s important to make a difference in a real way, and the donations we make for Doing Good Day really do mean a lot to those involved,” Mr Zollo said.
In total The Good Guys donated almost 250 products and gift cards to Australian schools, groups, charities and individuals. This year’s Doing Good Day also marked it giving $10 million since the program’s inception in 2006. More than $100,000 of this milestone can be attributed to The Good Guys Capalaba.
