Redlands under 12 division four played Capalaba Warriors in a local derby held at Pinklands grounds on Sunday.
Initially, there was doubt if the match may go ahead after the downpour of rain the Redlands area received on Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
However, the grounds held up well and the game went ahead as scheduled.
It was good to see the Redland’s boys turn up to play hard after a significant loss last round.
While they did not have a win, it was heart-warming to see the players trying their best, especially with the
Redlands team playing most of the second half with only 12 players.
A hard fought match saw Capalaba come away with the victory. It was a great game and the crowd got behind all the players. The final score was Capalaba Warriors 20 and Redland Parakeet’s 16.
Redlands man of the match winners were presented a McDonalds award. This award went to Joel Horne and newcomer Lawrence Dufficy.
The boys deserved these awards for such a fantastic performance.
Coaches Jeff, Luke and Brock were extremely proud of the player’s efforts.
Come down to Redlands grounds next weekend.
We have a full day of games on Sunday.
