CAPALABA Football Club hopes to raise more than $14,000 for cancer charities at their annual Pink Day weekend fundraiser.
The event will start with games from 6.30pm on Friday, August 11 and continue throughout the weekend.
On Saturday, August 12, the main attraction will be the men’s Premier League game against Souths at 6pm.
The biggest drawcard on Sunday, August 13, will be the women’s Senior Premier game against Mitchelton Football Club at 4.30pm.
Committee member Shaun McAney said Pink Day had raised about $14,000 in 2016 and they hoped to beat that this year.
The annual gift race will be held during half-time at both main events.
“The fastest selected players from each team will have an opportunity to race each other and see who is the fastest male and female player at the club,” Mr McAney said.
The girls will race on Saturday and the boys on Sunday.
Roar players and mascots will also be at event to do their bit for the club’s fundraising efforts.
There will be plenty of family fun with face and nail painting, lob-o-choc and shave your coach games and jumping castles.
Most teams playing over the weekend have chosen to support the cause by purchasing one-off Pink Capalaba shirts.
The jerseys will also be on sale.
All funds raised over the weekend will go to support cancer patients and their families.
The event is being promoted through a crowdfunding page available at gofundme.com/capalaba-fc-pink-day-wkd-fundraiser.
