SPRING is just around the corner which means St Rita’s Catholic Primary School at Victoria Point will hold its Springfest Fete.
This year it will feature a strawberry eating competition.
All proceeds from the lip-licking event will go towards buying an assistance dog for a St Rita’s pupil.
A major raffle will carry a $5000 first prize.
St Rita's Fete Committee spokeswoman Annalise Travers said the event would encourage community involvement by opening its arms to an amazing array of talent.
“Three live entertainment stages will showcase Redlands best talents, including the much-awaited St Rita’s Got Talent finals,” she said.
“There will also be two live bands, various performances from past and present students, along with many community groups.”
Ms Travers said the event also would have rides, food stalls, cake and sweets stall, more than 25 market stalls, a sideshow alley, trash and treasure, a reptile show, pop-up library and much-loved roving Star Wars characters.
There will also be State Emergency Service and fire, police and ambulance displays.
The biennial Springfest event is on September 2 from 10am to 4pm.
