RESIDENTS at Sylvan Woods Aged Care were left grinning when Opal the cockatiel and Jasper the puppy visited to say “hi”.
The fun was all part of a morning tea earlier this month organised to deliver blankets to guests from the Redland Animal Shelter.
Redland City councillor Tracey Huges, who attended event, said shelter animals were not the only beneficiaries on the day, with food and treat baskets also given to the Redland Community Centre for hand-out to those in need.

“Slvan Woods Aged Care supports projects that benefit the community in many different ways,” Cr Huges said.
“Their latest event was a huge success, as they established friendships with both the Redland Animal Shelter and Redland Community Centre.
“(It) will ensure ongoing donations and heartfelt visits with residents continue.”
