A REVAMPED form of cricket for the time poor will make its first foray in the Redlands later this year.
John McKenna, who has played the sport for the past five years, said Last Man Stands fixtures suited those who loved the game but could not commit the time required for a standard match.
“The competition is quite unique with rules aimed at a having the game done and dusted in two hours,” he said.

While Last Man Stands fixtures have been hosted at different locations in Brisbane, Mr McKenna said the sport would be extended into the bayside.
He said Cleveland’s GJ Walter Park and Redland Bay’s Sel Outridge Park had been booked for weekly fixtures, with a field at Wynnum to accommodate extra players if needed.
While a sign-up day will hosted sometime late next month, Mr McKenna said he wanted those interested to contact him.
Fixtures for the eight-player game are likely to begin in November and continue for six weeks, before a 10-week season is launched next year.
“The game will go throughout the whole year,” Mr McKenna said.
He said recruits could play against teams from other sites, including at national and international matches.
Last Man Stands has recruited thousands of cricketers since establishment 12 years ago, with competitions run in countries including the United Kingdom, South Africa and the Netherlands.
All eight wickets are needed to bowl a team out, with the last man left standing at the fall of the seventh wicket.
