“We know that physical activity is key to both health and learning outcomes among our kids and these new sails will give the kids a sun-safe space to play outside,” Mr de Brenni said.
“The … government is committed to sun-safety and this investment will provide Mount Cotton kids with a safe space to learn and play.
“The Palaszczuk government has shown over the last three years and with announcements that it is totally committed to providing the best possible education and facilities for our young people.”
Mr de Brenni said a re-elected government would spend $808 million building 10 schools and boosting education infrastructure in growth areas throughout the state.
“The investment will help deliver seven new secondary schools, one special school and two primary schools and planning for another seven schools across Queensland,” he said.
“Labor will also deliver up to $235 million over four years to 2021-22 to renew and refurbish 17 high schools.
“This is on top of our rolling $750 million fund to maintain Queensland’s 25,000 school buildings across 1239 state schools.’’
