Here it’s all about enjoying hockey in a fun, safe, and family-friendly environment.
From humble beginnings over 10 years ago, 53 players to now over 400 members, hockey has been played in the Redlands.
Catering for all ages from 4-year old’s to those well into their 60’s, it is affordable and fun for everyone. Fixtures are at one venue each Saturday (Henry Ziegenfusz Park, Cleveland) and offers over 14-year old’s the chance to play with mums and dads in the senior teams.
Representative teams challenge themselves against the best in the state with both junior and senior players being selected to represent Queensland. Turf opportunities are provided through an affiliation with Brisbane and Gold Coast Hockey.
Throughout the summer season, Redlands players form teams to play Indoor Hockey, continuing their enthusiasm and skill development.
Several Redlands players have also represented Qld at indoor tournaments as well. With the forthcoming installation of lights at the fields, variations of the game and season will be exciting options for 2018.
As well as pathways for players, Redlands Hockey offers opportunities for officials to develop their skills and qualifications in umpiring and technical duties.
