A garbage truck driver, who died after his vehicle ploughed into a Brisbane camping shop, will be remembered as a "hard-working man".
The truck crashed into Tentworld on Lutwyche Road at Windsor just before 10am Wednesday, causing significant damage.
The driver, in his 40s, died at the scene.
"I want him to be remembered as a hard-working man who looked after his family," the man's grief-stricken stepson told the Seven network.
Speaking from the scene of the crash, he said he just wanted "to be there for him, because he has always been there for me".
Five fire vehicles remain on the scene working to stabilise the building before a tow truck arrives.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service Inspector Richard Gorey told reporters earlier they were concerned the structure may collapse.
Insp Gorey said the vehicle was wedged between the levels of the two-storey building.
The man's body has been removed from the scene.
There were five people inside the building at the time of the crash, including two male workers who were taken to Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital with minor injuries.
Insp Gorey said it was lucky more people weren't injured.
"We were very fortunate today there was nobody in that section of the shop," he said.
