WHAT comes top of mind for the largest disability service provider in The Redlands are the families awaiting the roll-out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in July.

Myhorizon is non-profit organisation which supports more than 2000 people with a disability formed in 1981 by local parents to create opportunities for people with a disability.
Myhorizon delivers services such as: early intervention, lifestyle, employment and training, support coordination, plan management, social enterprises and independent living.
“For people living with a disability under the new NDIS structure there will be more opportunities to make choices about what they want,” she said.
“We recommend to people to think about their goals and what services they need.”
Myhorizon marketing and communications manager Mary Marsh said the non-profit can help people to effectively manage their different supports under the NDIS and ease the stress of managing it.
"We can step them through the process as it can seem a little bit overwhelming,” she said.
“If you need assistance or direction we're happy to help, you don't need to feel like you are on your own.”
Myhorizon’s range of services include access to different therapies for children and adults, training courses, employment opportunities, and community programs.
Myhorizon Social Enterprises staff assist with events preparing food items in hampers and work in the cafe.
“We want to empower people with disability and support them to reach their goals in the community,” she said.
“Our commitment as a provider to work ‘with you, for you’ is about giving people real choices and supporting them on their whole life journey’
The head office is located in Capalaba, and all are welcome to visit the facilities which include a newly built function centre for business or social events, weddings and the popular Bush Pantry Café which is also open to the public Monday to Friday.
