2018 golden guitar winner for best new talent Brad Butcher comes to the Redlands Modern Country Music club, Pinklands Sports Reserve, 226 Cleveland Redland Bay Road, Thornlands for its social evening from 5pm on Saturday, April 7.
Butcher spent his childhood days fishing the Pioneer River, his sporting years playing rugby league in Mackay, working in coal mines as a crane operator and rigger, and now he tours the world as a musician. His music is a comment on reality, mental health, growing up in Central Queensland and the every man daily grind.
Butcher’s song writing has been nominated for a myriad of awards in the past five years, with three Queensland music awards in 2012, 2013 and 2016. He has toured Australia and the United States of America multiple times even performing at the iconic Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and at New York City’s The Bitter End in Greenwich Village in 2016. He has also supported Troy Cassar-Daley, Diesel and Shane Nicholson.
Members of the club will also offer a variety of country music entertainment.
Admission is $4 for members and $5 for visitors. A barbeque meal will be available and a licensed bar will be open. Free tea and coffee is available throughout the night and a free country style supper will be served at 8:30pm.
