CLEVELAND Meals on Wheels provided a special surprise with their meals ahead of Easter this year.
The organisation, whose vision is to provide “more than just a meal”, included a special Easter basket with their meals.
A spokesperson said Cleveland co-ordinator Maree Smith spent her two weeks off making the baskets.
Easter eggs were donated by Meals on Wheels volunteers.
The spokesperson said they wanted to do something special because occasions such as Easter could be lonely for those who are on their own or whose family is distant.
”The end result made it all worthwhile when the faces of the clients showed their appreciation,” the spokesperson said.
Cleveland Meals on Wheels offers a service to residents in Cleveland, Ormiston, Wellington Point and Birkdale.
Cleveland Meals on Wheels is not means tested and is available to customers at a small cost.
