The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hasn’t been without the odd weird and wonderful moment.
Her relatives – many estranged it would seem – have made their presence felt in the lead-up to the nuptials.
Ms Markle's parents are divorced, her half-siblings have distinct opinions they are happy to share, and her father once declared bankruptcy. And that’s before we even go near the “photogate” controversy that erupted in the US.
And, of course, it’s progressed from there and Mr Markle won’t walk his daughter down the aisle.
On the good news front, Ms Markle's mum has met with the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall ahead of the royal wedding.
That’s a personal memory for those deeply involved, for the rest of us, well, there’s “memorabilia”.
American retailers have gone into overdrive to produce souvenirs that pay homage to the Los Angeles-born-and-raised actress, and they're a far cry from your traditional English tea towel, coffee mug and biscuit tin.
