Ms Richards recently held a consultation event with students aged from 11 to 18 years old from Carmel College, Bayview State School, Victoria Point State High School, Cleveland District State High School and Thornlands State School.
She said ideas gathered at the consultation event would inform the work of the Queensland Anti-Cyberbullying Taskforce.
“The taskforce is travelling the state, engaging with children, parents, schools, community members and health and education experts to identify community-driven strategies to reduce cyberbullying,” she said.
“The taskforce is chaired by author and commentator Madonna King and comprises people with a wide range of knowledge and experience.
“The taskforce is bipartisan in its approach and includes a member of Parliament from government and the opposition.”
Ms Richards said she was proud to be involved in the process.
“I firmly believe the best way to address a community-wide issue is with community-wide consultation and involvement.”
Submissions can be emailed to the taskforce via antibullyingtaskforce@premiers.qld.gov.au or by visiting campaigns.premiers.qld.gov.au/antibullying/taskforce.
The taskforce will recommend an anti-cyberbullying framework and community and government actions to the premier by August 31.
