The Old Schoolhouse Gallery July exhibition On the Wild Side officially opens Saturday July 7 at 5.30pm. The all-member exhibition will highlight the many forms of artistic media used by the artists and will showcase a mix of contemporary and traditional works for sale.
The artists are also working on a related collaborative work that will be displayed in the near future and are looking for community participation in the activity.
The gallery has strong links with wildlife related groups and several gallery members are also members of Queensland Wildlife Artists Society Inc. The society is also a member of the Old Schoolhouse Gallery with members regularly contributing to the exhibitions.
Along with this exhibition, a raffle is being held to raise much-needed funds to support the work of the Koala Action Group, which is very active in the Redlands area monitoring koalas, informing the community and supporting koalas in their urban habitat.
Several items are being donated by the members of the gallery for the raffle, with the draw to be held on July 29 at 1pm.
Paddy is one of the koalas that visit the gallery and visitors to the gallery have been delighted to see him in the tree tops behind the Schoolhouse building.
On the Wild Side runs at The Old Schoolhouse Gallery, Shore Street North, Cleveland from July 6 – 29. Open 9.30am to 4.30pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
