THE rain did not stop children from wearing their gum boots and rain coats and heading to IndigiScapes’ Seek, Unearth and Explore day.
Capalaba’s environmental education centre saw a crowd flock to the free family fun day on Thursday, July 5 to make bush tucker biscuits, try weaving, clay play and drawing.
There was also a scavenger hunt, a cultural display with Matthews Burns face painting and showcasing artifacts and story telling by Sandra Delaney.
Auntie Joanne Claybourn from the Minjerriba Morgumpin elders also did a welcome to country to guests.
IndigiScapes event organiser Marguerite Johnson said the day was bigger than expected.
“We have a lovely big crowd enjoying the many activities,” she said.
“A lot of families seem to have returned to from out Indigi Day Out on June 2 to experience what we have to offer.”
