“They came in knowing they’d won, but not quite believing it,” he said.
“It was great to be able to confirm the news for them.”
Each syndicate share is worth $144,739.80, with one man, who bought two shares, cashing in twice.
Mr Matt said some customers with an entry were not registered and urged people to check their tickets.
“There are several syndicate members who have unregistered entries and may not yet know they’re part of this winning group,” he said.
“If you purchased a share in News Worx’s syndicate for the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto Superdraw, today’s the day to check it!”
A spokesperson for Gold Lotto said the Redlands couple who won $2.857 million, aged in their 40s, were thrilled to find out about their win.
They had not checked their ticket, which was bought online at thelott.com, until this week.
“We can’t stop shaking – we’ve got to stop shaking first,” the winning woman laughed.
“I just bought this ticket on Friday night on the way home from work – I’m glad I did.
“You just don’t expect to win and you just think I’ll check it next week.”
The spokesperson said the couple planned to use the money for home renovations, travel and job changes.
The six winning numbers in Gold Lotto draw 3863 on Saturday 28 July 2018 were 37, 21, 29, 27, 40 and 31.
The supplementary numbers were 6 and 11.
