POLICE want people who saw a morning peak hour collision involving a white van and maxi cab near Birkdale’s 7-Eleven petrol station along Old Cleveland Road to contact them.
Senior Constable Kelly Burbank said Wynnum Criminal Investigation branch detectives were investigating allegations of assault and needed dash cam or video footage to look at and witness information.
The collision happened about 7.30am on Monday, August 13 near traffic lights at the intersection of Old Cleveland and Bailey roads.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said a white Renault van had broken down on Old Cleveland Road, which caused a minor traffic collision with the vehicle behind it.
“Both drivers have gone to exchange details which subsequently escalated into a series of assaults with several people receiving minor injuries,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson encouraged anyone with a dash cam who may have been driving past at the time to review footage captured.
“ … Please review your footage and if you have recorded it, contact detectives,” the spokesperson said.
