Belle Strings quartet performs the classics

The Belle Strings quartet presents a Head and Heart concert at the theatre on the second floor of the Wynnum community centre, Florence Street at 2pm on Sunday, September 9.

MUSIC: An early music series is being performed at Wynnum through the Wynnum Manly arts council. Alex Averi plays the baroque cello.

The quartet comprises Alex Averi of Capalaba on ‘cello, Andrea Slater of Wellington Point and Allison Stenning on violin and Charlotte Ashcroft on viola. The group presents music by Bach, Haydn, Albeniz and Grainger.

The concert is part of an early music program with the Wynnunm Manly Arts Council, with the next to be a program of baroque music presented by Queensland Baroque at 2pm on October 7. The early music will be performed on period instruments, including the chalumeau, dulcian, serpent, cornetto,  baroque bassoon, baroque strings and harpsichord.

This concert will be held at the Wynnum Municipal hall, corner Bay Terrace and Cedar Street, Wynnum.

Tickets are $15/$12/$8 and can be booked on 3348 2369. Tickets include afternoon tea.
