Attempted car theft
THIEVES tried to steal a car from a Mount Cotton property in broad daylight on Monday.
Redland Bay police received reports that a blue-coloured Holden Rodeo dual cab pulled up to the Balthazar Circuit home about 12.40pm on Monday, September 10.
An occupant hopped out and approached the parked car but left after being confronted by the owner.

Car theft
A car was stolen from a Lowe Circuit home after its owner left the keys in the ignition briefly.
The owner was getting ready to go to the shops about 1pm on Monday, September 10 when the Hyundai i45 sedan was taken.
A silver-coloured ute, seen doing burnouts in the area, is believed to be connected to the theft.
The stolen Hyundai has not been found. Its registration plate was 796VEO.
Break and enter
About $900 damage to a dump truck kept onsite a quarry was done after fencing was cut to nearby fencing.
Police said copper wire was stolen from the truck. A male suspect is being questioned by police.
Wilful damage
Four windows were smashed at Redland Bay State School overnight on Sunday, September 9.
Police said no property was reported stolen. The incident happened sometime between 5.30pm on Sunday and 4.30am the next day.
Theft
A wallet was reported stolen from the Redland Bay Hotel about 11.30pm on Wednesday, September 12.
Police said the victim had left their wallet at the venue before returning to find it gone.
The victim’s credit card was later used at Town Centre Victoria Point for an attempted $80 transaction.
Police warned people with missing wallets to contact their bank for card cancellations or temporary freezes to ensure money was not stolen through unauthorised transactions.
