A spokeswoman for the club said the event was a win for the Redlands, bringing in visitors to the region and helping to profile the community.
Championship matches will be live-streamed on the Bowls Australia Facebook page further helping to promote the club.
“The benefits of hosting an event such as this are many including bringing people to the Redlands, promoting the game of bowls and exposure to our community as well as our great club,” she said.
The spokeswoman said the club’s men’s bowls committee had pushed for the club to host the event.
“Many meetings and much discussion about the proposal took place before Capalaba Sports Club was finally awarded the host club role,” she said.
“Our greens are second to none and our facilities are well equipped to successfully host such an event.
“The players taking part in this competition are the best of the best, with past and present world Commonwealth Games medallists, previously representing their states at this event.”
Queensland dominated last year’s events but more winners from other states are tipped this year.
