YMCA Victoria Point had 14 gymnasts among almost 1000 from around the state taking part in the recent Gymnastics Queensland Junior State Championships at Chandler.
In the level four overs section Chloe Stretton was the state champion for vault.
Sophie Rowland came second overall, first on beam and second on floor in the level 5 overs.
In the level 6 under 12 section, Keeley Wilson came second on floor, sixth on vault and sixth overall, while Charlie Banks came fourth on vault.
In level 6 under 13, Jessica Ewan came third on floor.
Keeley and Charlie also represented South Brisbane in the Junior Regional Challenge. The team placed second.
The event is one of the most significant on the gymnastics calendar, with competitors having to qualify at a regional level to compete.
Gymnastics Queensland chief executive Kym Dowdell said competitors from 57 clubs took to the floor, vault, bars, rings and beam.
“This event is the culmination of months of hard work, training and commitment from these young gymnasts, who have all performed at a high level in their regional area,” she said.
