Elvis tribute artist Stuey V will bring Blue Christmas to Redlands White Christmas, mixing up the colours and the flavour of this year’s Redland White Christmas to be staged at the Redland Performing Arts Centre on December 8 .
The Redland City choir presents Redlands White Christmas at RPAC on December 8.
Included in his Christmas repertoire will be other Christmas favourites including Peace in the Valley.
The theme of this year’s concert focusses on seeing Christmas through the eyes of children.
Besides the 87-voice choir, there will also be on stage about 100 students, representing Redland College, Star of the Sea, Alexandra Hills High School and Carmel College on stage.
The students will sing dance and feature several songs from movies including Truly Scrumptious and the Doll in the Box song from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Choir conductor Anita Taylor said the concert which was now in its fourth year, having had a change in 2017 when the choir presented Messiah. Her aim is to produce a different theme each year.
“Children always see everything as being big – the roast, the gifts, the tree,” Ms Taylor said.
Ms Taylor said new to this year’s concert would be a small audience sing-along with the words printed on the free programs.
Ms Taylor said that in order to stage the event, the choir had been fund raising. A sausage sizzle will be held at Bunnings Victoria Point on October 27 and there would be a performance there from 6pm to 8pm on December 6.
The concert is directed by Erin Hardy with accompaniment by Peter Crane.
There will be performances at 2pm and 7pm and tickets are $30/$25.
