MORE than 700 community groups in Queensland, including 15 in Redlands, will benefit from $14.1 million worth of grants as part of Round 97 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
Redlands MP Kim Richards said Redlands organisations would receive more than $370,000.
“In this latest round of funding, local sporting clubs and groups were big winners with Redland City Bands, Redlands District Special School, Redlands BMX Club, Victoria Point State High School P and C, U3A and Volunteer Marine Rescue Raby Bay to name a few benefiting from grants that will help them improve their facilities,” Ms Richards said.
“This is exciting news for these groups and allows them to fund projects that would have otherwise been out of reach.
“It is wonderful to see these groups receiving funds that will allow them to improve the services they provide to the local community.”
Ms Richards congratulated the recipients and said community groups were the backbone of the community.
“The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is the state’s largest one-off grants program and provides about $54 million a year to our vital community groups,” Ms Richards said.
