HOT brewed drinks were in demand at Capalaba Park Shopping Center’s Coffee Club when police met with shoppers to chat.
The event was all part of the Coffee with a Cop program, which was set up to foster positive rapport between police and the community.
About 60 people attended to learn more from police about keeping secure, the law and more.
South Brisbane district Superintendent Mick Niland, who was there with Chief Superintendent Brian Swann and other officers, said the program was all about positive policing.
“It is all about community engagement,” he said.
Capalaba Police Beat’s Acting Senior Constable Vrinda McCauley said enjoying coffee with a cop was a great opportunity to meet police in a relaxed environment.
Volunteers in Policing and Crime Stoppers volunteers were also there, talking with shoppers about crime prevention.
