ISLANDERS wanting to know more about security, crime prevention and road safety can meet police at Macleay Island’s The Organic Market for coffee.
Bayside district crime prevention coordinator Acting Sergeant Brendon Winslow said police would be at the market on Saturday, November 10 between 9am and 11am.
He said a free courtesy bus would shuttle people to and from the island’s jetty and Organic Market, which is at 27 Lonicera Street.
Cops, police liaison officers, Volunteers in Police and Crime Stoppers members would all be there, with free coffee available.
“… Come on down to the Organic Market on Macleay Island for a free coffee and chat with some of your local coppers," he said.
The Coffee with a Cop program was set up in the Redlands about three years by Capalaba Police Beat to build rapport between police and the community.
Witness to crime can contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Always dial Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.
