A TRADIE blacklisted by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission and reprimanded by New South Wales building authorities may be trying to do business in the Redlands.

Fridge magnets promoting discounted electrical and plumbing services for seniors and pensioners have been distributed to Redlands homes this week, including at Ormiston and Cleveland.
One of the magnets – shaped as a tap – lists a New South Wales contractor licence number registered to Belal Dassouki, 33.
Mr Dassouki is not licensed to practice trades services in Queensland and has been issued with infringement notices by New South Wales authorities related to offences under the Plumbing and Drainage Act for providing false or misleading information in required documents and failing to provide compliance certificates.
The same tap-shaped magnets dropped into Redlands letterboxes were sent out to Brisbane homes earlier this year, which had prompted warnings from the Queensland Building and Construction Commission for people to take extreme caution when dealing with Mr Dassouki.
A QBCC spokesperson said the authority were aware the same magnets were again being distributed throughout Brisbane this week, warning Queenslanders to also take care with Mr Dassouki’s associate Mahmoud Sayadi.
Mr Dassouki is listed as a sole trader on the Australian Business Register and has three business names listed. These are On Time Local Plumber, Plumbing Detectives and Mr H2GO Plumbing.
Up until September, he was also a nominated supervisor of business Clean & Clear Purification Specialists, which Mr Sayadi had directed.
The QBCC issued a warning in September about Mr Sayadi, saying he was not registered to perform trades in Queensland and may be linked to more than 60 websites advertising plumbing services in the region.
“On 27 July 2018, the QBCC issued a public warning urging consumers, contractors and suppliers to be cautious in any dealings with Belal Dassouki, Plumbing Detectives Pty Ltd in Queensland, or any entity associated with Belal Dassouki or Plumbing Detectives Pty Ltd.
“The commission has since become aware that Mahmoud Sayadi, a known business associate of Belal Dassouki, now former director of Plumbing Detective Pty Ltd (NSW), is offering to carry out plumbing work throughout the Brisbane region.
“The QBCC warns all persons in Queensland dealing with Mahmoud Sayadi, Clean & Clear Purifications Specialists Pty Ltd and Belal Dassouki to exercise extreme caution.
“The QBCC urges consumers who have contracted with or had any dealings with Mahmoud Sayadi or Clean & Clear Purifications Specialists Pty Ltd through any of the … websites, or Belal Dassouki, to contact the QBCC on 139 333.”
