All through their disappointing start to their A-League campaign Brisbane have felt a change of fortune wasn't far away.
That optimistic outlook has been battered by a run of just one win from seven matches, leaving the Roar second last on the ladder after a tepid 2-0 loss to Newcastle last weekend.
Danish midfielder Thomas Kristensen is one who has simply had enough of talking about turning things around - he says now is the time for the team to deliver in a tough clash with Melbourne Victory on Friday.
The A-League champions lie second on the ladder on the back of five consecutive wins and head north seemingly ready to inflict more misery on the hapless Roar.
Kristensen, however, thinks the challenge of halting the Victory's winning run may just be the switch the Roar need to finally click into gear.
"We need to get things right," Kristensen said.
"We can't just keep saying 'it'll come', we need to work our way back into it.
"No better chance than against a team who've won five in a row."
Leading the way for the Victory has been Japanese superstar Keisuke Honda while another import - Swedish striker Ola Toivonen - has been a key figure in the Victory's past two matches.
Kristensen said the Roar cannot afford to focus their attentions solely on the Victory's international faces, with locals such as James Troisi and Terry Antonis also in fine recent form.
"He's not their only player," the midfielder said of Honda.'
"They have a lot of good players. Of course, he's been good, but he's not the only player we need to watch.
"I played him (Toivonen) once before when he played at PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League and he's a quality player, you could see that, but, again, he's one player.
"They have heaps of good players, but so do we."
