Ormiston local Lindsey Vidal was named the Local CAREGiver of the Year for Redlands, Bayside and Logan by Home Instead Senior Care.
Since February 2017, she has been a highly valued member of the Birkdale team, making an incredible impact on the lives of her clients with whom she develops meaningful and genuine relationships.
Home Instead Senior Care Redlands, Bayside and Logan director Victoria Meyers said Ms Vidal was a worthy recipient of the honour.
“Lindsey is a wonderful ambassador for Home Instead Senior Care and an amazing, caring human.”
Ms Vidal, who worked a variety of professional jobs before moving into aged care, realised her true calling while caring for her late mother before she passed away and also for her father who had dementia.
Inspired by those life-changing experiences, she completed all the necessary training, including learning how to care for people living with dementia and has now completed over 1,573 hours of service.
"I truly believe I was always destined to be a caregiver," Ms Vidal said.
"I just took an interesting journey to get her but it led me to the most rewarding job on earth.
"I am thrilled to be the Local CAREGiver of the year.”
The CAREGiver of the Year award is presented annually by Home Instead Senior Care.
Each franchise nominates an outstanding carer and submits supporting information outlining the professional’s level, length and type of service, as well as testimonials from clients.
An independent committee then determines the candidate displaying the specific characteristics and attributes of an exceptional carer.
Ms Vidal received the award at the company’s national conference at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast on Friday, November 23.
