FIREFIGHTING crews have not returned to Scribbly Gums Reserve at Cleveland.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said uyrbanfirefighters had contained the vegetation fire about 9pm on Wednesday.
About three millimetres of rain earlier today had also helped dampen conditions.
Emergency services were called to the bushfire at Weippin Street about 8.15am on Wednesday.
Council had advised residents to avoid the Cleveland Track Park as the fire burnt nearby.

FIREFIGHTERS are on the scene of a vegetation fire in the Scribbly Gums Reserve at Cleveland.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said one crew was conducting backburns in response to the fire.
They were called to the fire about 8.15am on Wednesday.
Redland City Council crews are also on the scene of the fire.
Council has advised residents to avoid the Cleveland Track Park as the fire is burning in the vicinity.
A bushfire warning states that smoke may affect residents and motorists in the area of the fire.
“Residents should close their doors and windows and keep medication close by if suffering from a respiratory condition,” the warning said.
“Motorists should use caution and drive to conditions.”
