AN adult male was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital with burns after an emergency helicopter responded to an incident on Russell Island just after 3:50pm on Tuesday.
The man remains in a serious but stable condition.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the event was believed to have involved a firepit.

A RESCUE helicopter has attended to a person on Russell Island affected by burns.

The helicopter was called to attend to an incident at a private residence soon after 3:50pm on Tuesday.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the person had sustained burns to their upper arms and face, but how they had occurred was yet unknown.
The person was transported to hospital.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said QFES had been called to assist with the helicopter landing, but were not attending the incident.
