CROWDS were out and about in droves on Saturday to celebrate Australia Day.
Despite soaring temperatures, people hit beaches around the Redlands to make the most of the sunny weather.
Revellers at Wellington Point reserve and Thompson’s Beach took to the water on paddleboards, boats and kayaks, while others preferred to enjoy food and drinks in the shade.
Families large and small gathered together to enjoy the day, hanging Australian flags and donning green and gold in honour of the occasion.
Beachgoers brought picnic lunches or cooked barbecues, with some also playing their favourite Australian songs.
