THE Redlands Multicultural Group will celebrate fifteen years of food, song and friendship next month.
Founder and organiser Shahin Master started the group on April 1, 2004 with the aim of promoting understanding between Australian and international cultures, and sharing music and food from different countries.
Ms Master said the highlight of the group's history was publishing a multicultural cook book, which contained recipes from all around the world.
The group will celebrate the milestone on Thursday, April 4 in the company of special guest TAFE Queensland Brisbane Region General Manager Dr Paul Wilson, who will cut the birthday cake.
The Redland Multicultural Group meets every Thursday from 10am to noon in D Block at the Alexandra Hills TAFE campus.
Ms Master said during meetings, group members talked and shared aspects of their culture.
She said people from more than 48 countries had attended group meetings, and she hoped the group would continue to foster friendship between its members.
