
Macleay Island arts complex's Fired Earth presents some fiery new pieces in its newest exhibition, opening at the gallery at 95-97 Coast Road from 6pm on March 22.
This annual exhibition represents hard work and enthusiasm of new and experienced potters who present a collection of pottery, ceramics, paintings, jewellery and woodwork. it runs until April 14.
Speaking at the opening night is Tricia Dobson, well known for her painting, drawing, printmaking and, more recently, weaving with natural fibres and recycled plastics.
Ms Dobson is a co-founder and active participant in Canaipa Mudlines, creating and documenting ephemeral artwork in the natural environment since 2016. She is also an experienced community cultural development practitioner having worked with diverse communities and cultural groups over many years in various parts of Australia. She is currently working as a freelance visual artist, curator and arts project coordinator based on Canaipa (Russell Island).
The gallery is open from 10am to 3pm Wednesday to Sunday.
